Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores, Inc. to Offer Kitchen Remodeling Services with New Partner
Retailer Bringing Kitchen Tune-Up Kiosks to Showrooms and Hardware Stores
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (July 3, 2013) – In today’s fast-paced society where consumers are often short on time and every second counts, the demand for convenience and value continues to grow. In an effort to provide added services and a more robust shopping experience for its customers, Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOS), is partnering with Kitchen Tune-Up to offer kitchen remodeling services.
Kitchen Tune-Up serves residential and commercial customers and specializes in affordable kitchen remodeling. Services range from restoring and repairing existing wood cabinets, to refacing cabinets and replacing doors and hardware, to installing completely new custom-built cabinetry.
“So often, consumers come in looking to refresh their kitchens with new appliances to create an updated look. By offering Kitchen Tune-Up in our locations, they can also take advantage of wood and cabinet updating services that will help them get the look they want without having to completely remodel the entire area. What might be a daunting project for some of our customers becomes much simpler to manage and complete,” said Scott Nichols, Director of Franchise Business Development for Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. “In addition to the consumer benefits, our franchisees gain a whole new service offering that adds tremendous value to their business.”
The partnership allows franchisees and dealers that operate Sears Home Appliance Showrooms stores and Sears Appliance & Hardware stores to purchase a Kitchen Tune-Up franchise at a reduced investment and place a kiosk within their existing store. Kitchen Tune-Up kiosks will be available in six Sears Home Appliance Showrooms stores and Sears Appliance & Hardware stores across the Mid-Atlantic this summer.
“We decided to partner with Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores, Inc. because our businesses align well together,” said Jeff Dorn, Senior Vice President of Operations for Kitchen Tune-Up. “We’re targeting the same types of customers that frequent Sears Appliance Showrooms stores and Sears Appliance & Hardware stores so it makes perfect sense to have each product offering in the same building. Customers updating their homes with new appliances can easily stop by the Kitchen Tune-Up kiosk and learn about cabinet refacing and other services. This partnership is truly creating a one stop shopping experience for consumers.”
