World Franchising Network Listed CruiseOne as One of the
50 Top Franchises for Veterans
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 8, 2014) - The World Franchising Network has compiled and published its fifth annual list of the “50 Top Franchises for Veterans” and CruiseOne was the only travel franchise recognized on the list. The results were featured in the June 20, 2014, issue of USA TODAY in the Franchising Today section.
“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious honor for the second year in a row and be included on a list with many of the best franchisors in the country,” said Tim Courtney, CFE, vice president of franchise development and ambassador of veteran affairs. “We have military veterans to thank for making the U.S. the land of opportunity, and CruiseOne’s military veteran programs are just a token of our gratitude.”
Pledging to have 25 percent of its franchise network be comprised of military veterans and active-duty spouses by the end of 2014, CruiseOne has many incentive programs in place. A member of VetFran, CruiseOne honors military veterans by offering service members a 20 to 40 percent discount off the franchise fee, as well as an additional discount to franchisees who hire veterans and active-duty spouses as associates. Currently, U.S. military veterans can enter-to-win a free CruiseOne travel franchise through the company’s “Operation Vetrepreneur: Become Your Own General” contest, which awards five free franchises to deserving veterans. The entry form and all contest details can be found at www.OperationVetrepreneur.com or on CruiseOne’s Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/CruiseOneFranchise.
The World Franchising Network selected 50 franchisors from more than 300 companies requesting evaluation for inclusion in the article. There was no cost to participate in the survey. Each participating franchisor was required to submit a completed questionnaire. The questionnaire noted both the absolute number of and the percentage of the total number of operating units owned or managed by veterans, as well as the number of veterans in senior management that earned more than $80,000 per year.
“The steady increase in veteran representation within the overall franchising community over the last several years has been extremely encouraging,” stated Rob Bond, founder of the World Franchising Network. “It certainly is clear evidence of the intrinsic values, invaluable experience learned through life's lessons, and the exceptional work ethic of our military veterans. Hopefully, this trend will continue in the years to come so that these fine young men and women can test their skills in franchising.'
