Zoom Room Jumps from 2 to 26 Franchised Locations in One Year

17 New Centers Planned Throughout 2012 for Ambitious Los Angeles-Based Pet Franchise

Los Angeles, Calif. – (May 29, 2012) – The Zoom Room®, an eco-friendly, active lifestyle dog training franchise, is massively increasing its footprint across the country with new deals signed in recent months for Northern and Southern California, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The company, which is the only brick-and-mortar dog training franchise in America, currently has 10 locations and will grow to 27 in the next few years. Expansion of the Zoom Room system has been unprecedented – in 2010, the company had just two franchised and one company-owned location.

Since the initial franchised location in Culver City, California has played a key role in company growth. The first franchise owners, David Essex and Jesse Simon, have just signed on to open four more locations in the Los Angles area. With 11 additional agreements inked across the Golden State, the buzz surrounding Zoom Room at home continues to spread.

While Zoom Room continues to provide excellent opportunities to animal-loving business owners out West, the surge in popularity and awareness of the brand across the U.S. can’t be understated. New locations in Columbus, Ohio and Philadelphia, Penn., the first in each state, are proof of an inexorable sweep from coast to coast, joining existing locations in Texas, Florida, Wisconsin, Colorado and North Carolina.

“We’re thrilled to continue the expansion of the brand in our home state of California and in brand new markets around the U.S.,” said Mark Van Wye, Chief Operating Officer. “The fact that our very first franchisee in Culver City has signed on with four additional locations is a testament to the ongoing popularity and demand for Zoom Room in California. The fact that we’re moving into Ohio and Pennsylvania shows that our national reach is increasing and word of opportunities with Zoom Room is spreading.”

Americans spent a record $50.96 billion on their pets in 2011, with the pet services category growing the most at 7.9%, or $280 million, since 2010, according to the American Pet Products Association. Unlike most other dog-related businesses, though, the Zoom Room requires owners to be present with their dogs at all times – deepening the bond between the dogs and their owners and promoting responsible pet ownership as well as great opportunities for socialization.

Much of Zoom Room’s explosive growth can also be attributed to the desirability of the brand through the eyes of the owners. Recently, Zoom Room was named “Best in Category for Pet Services” by the Franchise Business Review.

“Our team is constantly coming up with new product innovations, rolling out new curricula, and looking for ways to keep manufacturing sourced in the U.S.,” said Van Wye. “If you ask yourself, ‘Why this franchise?’ we’ll tell you it’s because there’s no one else out there like us.”

In addition to agility training and group and private classes, the Zoom Room serves as a dedicated event center for dog birthday parties, charitable fundraisers and other canine-focused events. Well-heeled dog owners will also enjoy the carefully-curated selection of solution-oriented pet retail products. The Zoom Room’s Open Gym provides an opportunity for quality exercise time with one's dog, regardless of the weather.

The original Zoom Room opened in Culver City, Calif. in 2007 and was founded by Los Angeles, Calif. dog training expert Jaime Van Wye. As a sporty, eco-friendly and fresh approach to dog training, the Zoom Room is the fastest-growing pet franchise in the U.S. and a thriving leader in the $50 billion pet industry.
