In the early 1960’s, World Gym’s founder, Joe Gold, set out on a mission to change the world by improving people’s lives through fitness. He opened the first World Gym with the highest quality body building equipment and a warm, community vibe at Muscle Beach in Santa Monica, California.

Legendary bodybuilders including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and Dave Draper quickly flocked to the new World Gym. Other fitness enthusiasts joined, additional locations opened in the U.S., then entrepreneurs worldwide reached out to join the family by franchising gyms worldwide.
