BrightStar Care® Names Bob Ritter Director of Field Support

GURNEE, Illinois – BrightStar Care® announces the addition of Bob Ritter as Director of Field Support.

In his new role, Ritter will support 30 new and existing BrightStar Care franchise owners and serve as a resource for them on all aspects of the BrightStar Care model, including systems and technology, sales, marketing, and operations. Ritter will also assist these owners with strategic business planning, including organizational design and franchisee team assessment.

He will report to Vice President of Operations Kevin Pignone.

“We are beyond enthusiastic to have Bob join BrightStar,” said Shelly Sun, Co-Founder and CEO of BrightStar Care, noting his experience on both sides of franchising. “Not many people can credit themselves to being a franchisor and a franchisee at the same time. His extensive expertise will be integral to our success in communicating our common goal of ‘Making More Possible.’”

The son of John and Bonny Ritter, founders of Ritter’s Frozen Custard, Bob was destined to become a successful franchise executive and brings nearly 20 years of senior level experience in business development, operations and strategic planning to BrightStar Care.

Bob joined the family business in 1989, shortly after his parents opened the very first Ritter’s Frozen Custard shoppe in Franklin, Indiana. In his 14-year tenure with the company, Bob served in virtually every role on both the corporate and store operations sides of the business, from shoppe manager to shoppe owner, Vice President of Franchising to Chief Executive Officer.

Upon the company’s sale in 2008, Bob stuck to his franchise roots, having worked for TRUFOODS, Retrotax and, most recently, Associated Consultants, Inc., a full-service administrator of federal and state tax credit programs providing services to a variety of industries.

“Open and honest communication will be the most important part of my job,” said Ritter. “I will make sure that franchisees are in-the-know with regards to our vision and direction at all times.  While all franchisees are not going to agree with everything we do all the time, making sure they understand the ‘why’ behind our actions is vital.”
