Home Care Franchise BrightStar Expands Care Giving Network into Newport Beach and Irvine
March 30, 2011 - CHICAGO – BrightStar of San Juan Capistrano, a full-service, non-medical home care and medical staffing agency, announces the expansion of its care giving network into Newport Beach and Irvine. The new coverage area comes after local entrepreneurs Fred and Paula Stefany bought the existing territory in March 2011. BrightStar of San Juan Capistrano is located at 27512 Calle Arroyo.
In addition to providing much needed home care services in Orange and San Diego Counties, the expanded BrightStar location will continue to add jobs to the area over the next year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, care giving remains one of the fastest growing job sectors in the country.
The expansion into Newport Beach and Irvine is part of a national growth plan that calls for 400 total franchises by the end of 2011. Since launching the company’s franchise operations in August 2005, BrightStar has opened and/or signed more than 195 locations in various markets throughout the United States.
“With the continued success we have experienced in San Juan Capistrano and the surrounding area, adding Newport Beach and Irvine to our coverage area there just made sense,” said Shelly Sun, CEO and co-founder of BrightStar. “As specialists in the rapidly growing healthcare industry, we empower our owners to live our values and provide compassionate care and service, anytime, anyplace.”
According to a collective report by the Centers for Disease Control, AARP and the American Medical Association, by 2015, one of every five Americans will be between the ages of 50 and 64. As they enter this age group, 70 percent will already be diagnosed with at least one chronic condition and nearly half will have two or more. The resulting disease and disability may seriously compromise their ability to carry out activities of daily living, and BrightStar can assist this group with such activities, and nursing care needs if their condition worsens.
Inspired by a family experience, BrightStar is a full-service healthcare staffing agency that specializes in providing non-medical homecare to private clients within their homes, as well as supplemental healthcare staff to corporate clients such as hospitals and nursing homes. While senior citizens make up the majority of the company’s private duty clientele, BrightStar also works with pediatric and worker compensation cases, long term care and Veteran clients, as well as private trust and public guardian payers. BrightStar is also active in school nursing programs, retail health clinics and provides day care services.
Newport Beach resident Fred Stefany, the former president of Time Warner Cable for Orange County and Inland Empire, along with his wife Paula, a former Director of Human Resources for St. John Knits, decided to get into health care to help people through some of life’s most difficult challenges. As the current Chairman of the Board for the American Diabetes Association of Orange County, Fred saw an increased need for quality homecare services in the area and decided to expand into Newport Beach and Irvine.
“There comes a time in everyone’s life when they need a helping hand to overcome the challenges life throws at them, and I knew that the tools and systems BrightStar already had in place would allow me to provide the high-quality level of care to my community and the surrounding areas,” said Fred Stefany, adding that his location will bring experienced special needs pediatric nurses and caregivers to help the growing number of families with autistic children. “I couldn’t be more excited to expand my services and continue meeting the challenges and needs of those in the community.”
