Growing Chicago-Based Frozen Yogurt Franchise Set to Open Stores in Warrenville, Addison & Lombard this Fall

CHICAGO - (September, 2012) Chicago, Ill.-based self-serve franchise, Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt®, will open three additional locations – in Warrenville’s Cantera Commons (28341 Viehl Rd.), Addison (1600 W Lake St.), and Lombard (The Shops on Butterfield).  The new stores join those opening in Bolingbrook, Plainfield, and South Elgin this September. All are a family- run operation headed by local native, Kevin Visel.

Kevin, who is expecting his third child with wife, Kelsey, wanted to spend more time with his family so he opted to leave his successful career in wedding photography to take on a more consistent role as regional manager of the six new Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt® stores. The new endeavor will be a family affair with Kevin’s father, Daniel Visel as the main franchise investor and his sister, Lauren Visel, serving as store manager (of the South Elgin and Addison stores) and site developer.

Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt opened its first store in Crystal Lake, Ill. in 2010, and their second in Lake in the Hills in July 2011. The brand has an aggressive expansion plan to add 25 locations in the greater Chicagoland area over the next two years and 75 in other U.S. markets.

All six new locations will feature between 12 and 14 flavors, at least one of which will be a lactose-free sorbet option for those who are unable to enjoy dairy. A cause close to the Visel family’s heart, they thought it was important to provide options for every family – even those with dietary restrictions – to enjoy Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt.

The Warrenville, Addison and Lombard store hours of operation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The stores will feature free Wi-Fi and both indoor and outdoor seating.
